Give yourself the gift of beauty year-round! Light up your landscape with a truly stunning tree that offers visual interest every month of the year. The Coral Bark Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum ‘Sango-kaku’) is a cut above most other trees! This handsome little tree boasts delicate, yellow-green leaves in the spring that morph into a charming display of peachy golden splendor in the autumn. However, when the leaves fall, the show doesn’t stop! Coral Bark is true to its name: its brilliant reddish-ginger branches are delightful all year round but, without leaves, their stark brilliance is in proud display!

This tree loves the mild temperatures of the Pacific Northwest and will tolerate our wet conditions. However, it is susceptible to blight to be sure to plant it in an area with good circulation and good drainage. Coral Bark grows well in partial shade, sheltered from high winds. When conditions are right, it’s a vigorous upright cultivar that may grow to be 25 feet tall and 20 feet wide.

This handsome tree makes an excellent focal point in any landscape. Enjoy the beauty of Coral Bark Japanese Maples all year long!
